FINA WORLD SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS (25M)

International swimming tournament known as the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), or “Short Course Worlds.” It has been staged in years when FINA has not held its primary World Championships and is swum in a short course (25m) pool (currently this means in even years).

Unlike the FINA World Aquatics Championships, which include all five aquatics disciplines, this competition is just for swimming and is held in a 25-meter pool (rather than a long course, 50-meter pool).

2022 FINA WORLD SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS (25M)

The 16th FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) are slated to take place in the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Melbourne, Australia, from December 13 to December 18, 2022. The championships’ swimming competitions will take place in a 25-meter (short course) pool.

The Championships, which had been slated to take place from December 17 to December 22 at Kazan, Russia’s Palace of Water Sports, were moved in response to Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. The Championships are off-limits to all competitors and officials from Russia and Belarus.
